Orange Sherbet

I was going to start a "self portrait" day, but i really don't think i could draw myself every week. Plus, i am getting my hands full with Blind Contour Friday as it is. So tonight i started drawing another spice jar, but then i really felt like drawing a portrait...so, i was left to my own mug. Makes me think of orange sherbet.
Not much, but everyday matters so i hear. =)

yes, i look every day now and i'm bummed when i see nothing new. i like this alot. my favorite part is the orange in the hair. there's something about the drawing that makes it look not as much like you but you can still tell it's you. she definitely has your eyes...

I like the expression and the eyes looking off to the side; it's different compared to a lot of self-portraits.

mcGert*- It's probably because I am not making a goofy ass face. ha.
*she blushes*

BTW, I'm absolutely impressed with the artist of the week! Makes me want to watercolor again.

Yeah Kim: I wish that Burton Silverman had some watercolours on his site...he has an amazing book though.
I love it when people take an wetter approach to wc's. Use the medium to its full advantage!

your previous comment reminds me of a poem by michael longley. it's called, naturally, "Watercolour":
Between a chicken's wishbone on the mantelpiece
And, on the window sill, a dolphin's skull, I sit,
My pullover a continuation of the lazy-beds
You study through the window, my shirt a running
Together of earth-colours, wintry grasses, bracken
Painted with your favorite brush--goose-quill and sable
From a hundred years ago--and with water:
One drop too many and the whole thing disintegrates.
In this humidity your watercolour will never dry.

You look so mischevious and pensive at once!

that rain 'slicker' you are wearing is very photogenic. especially when it's accompanied by a hot red haired chick!
