Blind Contour FRIday 16

^This is Niff's 5 dollar bill. THAT took some concentration! Not to mention, Lincoln looks a bit like Sloth from Goonies. Poor guy. Good thing he is dead so I don't insult him...to his face.
Sutter

^Here is Sutter's massive billfold of five smackers. Even though it would seem that Lincoln is mentally challenged, I still think I could pass this off as real cash and get myself a single cup of coffee at Starbucks.
The other BCF participants are up on the left under the side bar title BCF 16!

$5 for a cup of coffee!! It used to be only in Japan that you'd have to take out a loan to get a latte. Great fivers, you two.

Great work, It's amazing that you can capture so much of the detail of something so small. I love them both!

Them's great drawings and inspired subject matter. I like the nibbly edge on Sutters bill particularly.
I'm too dull for BCDFriday....

yeesh. you two pick some wonderful subject matter. i wish i thought up some more exciting ones... a toothbrush just doesn't carry the same weight(or buying power) as a 5 dollar bill.
great job you two!

Well let's see - Niff's Abe looks more like Abe but Sutter's $5 is clearer but it looks like someone took a bite out it but Niff's got the shadow. Oh darn....I like them both. But the bc shadows are kind of neat.

Great job. Great subject. I'm trying to convince the seeks to do something more complex than a popsicle stick for BCF. ;)

Again very nice. I enjoy seeing how the same subject looks when drawn by two different people. And to tackle a subject with so much detail! What confidence, what aplomb and what great BCs... By the way, don't you both owe me $5? *ahem*
PS- Niff, M & I pride ourselves on our collective Scrabble vocabulary which we practice when speaking to each other. And, um, we lucked out with letters and board space. Thanks for the comments on my site.

Here's what I'm loving about both -
Niff's Lincoln has a 'Mary Todd, lock the door. It's time to issue a Presidential Pardon for your bustle and corset'.
Whilst with Sutter's the value of the bill literally floats off into the ether. Plus Lincoln has a mouth full of chaw.

wow terrific subject you guys, Niff, love the cheekbones and big ear, Sutter, he looks so young and modern

I agree with the above comments. You both pick such interesting and varied subject matter. Love this week's. The color and linework are great.

Cool bills. Last month when I drew a BCD of my buck it didn't come out half as crisp as yours. You guys got in so much detail. I especially love the fives and that hard-to-render fold. Hmph, I should've waited till you pros took a crack at it first (plus I suspect Lincoln's just better looking than Wash). Nice job!

Look at those swirls and margins and curlicues and finely-wrought typography. And the honest guy himself, he is Rushmore-worthy. Yes, you could easily pass these bills as legal tender.

Hey guys, they are both great. Not being familiar with American money, they'd fool me. :o) Maybe I'll do an Aussie $5 for you next week. BTW, sorry my submission was late. It's up now. :o)

You guys are so CREATIVE!!! How do you think of such wacky things to draw???? Never thought to be a counterfitter. Have to try this next

Love the curly brick-brack borders and both takes on the same object. I also like the tonal color changes of green, sets these illustrations off nicely.
