Blind Contour FRIday 26

This is just a great neclace of mine. I made sutter draw something fancy. hee hee! -NIff

This is my fancy shmancy necklace that I parade around town in. Do you like? –Sutter.
The other BCF participants are up on the left under the side bar title BCF 26!
We were thinking of possibly making Blind Contour Friday only once a month. Maybe the first friday of every month, "Blind Contour First Friday." This is because Niff is going to be starting her new job soon, and we would like to concentrate on having more weeks full of comics and illustrations, and this way we can spend more time and put more detail in our monthly BC drawings. What does everyone else think of this idea? If you all want to keep at it, we are all for it, give us some feed back!!!!

Blind Contour First Friday! Yes! Count me in.

Great job on the drawings of the fancy necklace. As far as BCF goes, I am better with a routine...once a month...that's good. But I will probably still do it every Friday, and then feel less guilty if for some reason I don't post. I am for keeping it the way it is, but it's your baby, so whatever. I just like participating whatever you decide. And BTW, I should take this opportunity to say thanks for even starting BCF. I used to hate blind contours ...because they look so weird. So I hardly ever did them, unless my instructor made me. But I feel that over the past few months, I have really begun to slow down in my drawing and notice more details and relationships in what I draw. I think that is from doing so many of these blind contours. So I just wanted to say thanks.

Thanks for putting me back on the list! My BCD is up today :-)
I think BCFF is ok. At least it will not be so pressured-filled for all of us who have work to finish during the day, and it will give us time to prepare better and to come up with more creative and interesting subjects in anticipation of the next post date.

you can blame sutter for all the pictures I found on myspace...but that in itself IS creepy..yes.
And I like the idea. Less work = good.

BCFF sounds great - whatever works for you, our glorious hosts and instigators!
BTW mine is LATE. AGAIN.
Sorry :(
Also hurrah and good luck with new job/enterprise!
And further hurrah to comics and illus!!

Lots of fancy details, I like it. Both of them.
As far as monthly BCs go, it's probably a good idea, but I'd worry I'd forget.. I need a routine. Either way, I'd still like to participate.
It will be good to see more comics and illustrations here again :)

as you will notice when you go to my site, you will see that i've had a hard time keeping up with BCF these days (at least for this week). so, i'm more than happy with BCFF, and will likely try to do one each week anyway. try being the operative word, mind you. that way, just in case i forget it's the first friday, i'll at least have something for folks to look at.

Heres another thing, everyone. If and when BCFF is put into action we can email everyone who wishes to be added to the list beforehand as a reminder and we may even give you a topic. Hows that sound?
Posted by: sutter | January 27, 2006 at 09:33 AM
wow, you all are great at giving feedback...I am now very seriously considering this.

Hi you two! Just back in town this morning and will get a drawing up later today. I like the once a month idea very much. I find I'm running out of steam a bit and that some of my ideas are getting boring. Once a month would allow us all to get really recharged between Blind Contour Episodes. I agree with whoever said that this whole thing has been fabulous and has really reconnected me with my inner loopy drawing self :D. I love the drawings you both did today--very curly.

whatever works best for you two works just fine for me, especially if once a month means more time for you to do other things! as others have said I'd never have considered doing blind contours until you jogged my memory of them, I've enjoyed them so much, made me get out to the museum more looking for subjects, yay for that, many thanks!

A reminder email is a good idea.
And I think that giving us a topic each month would be great too. It has become increasingly difficult to come up with ideas, and I think it would be really interesting if everyone was to tackle the same subject.

I think Donna is right--seeing how everybody handled bug carcasses, for example, would be great fun. And then I wouldn't have to think as much, which is always a plus. Btw, I posted a drawing just now and I see I'm going to have to capitulate on Sutter and Chuck's tagging me. You villains. (Not you, Niff ;D)

First... The necklaces are lovely. Very delicate lines.
Second... I will be delighted to do a first friday event or more often whatever the case may be.

Your necklaces rock!
first Friday works well with us (my son and I), we would probably continue to do it every Friday and then just post on the First Friday. As it is we do BC as the last school thing on Friday, so it's usually later in the day if I get around to posting it, so the email before hand might help too. The idea of everyone drawing the same thing would be really neat :) We have got to go get math and creative writing done so that we can get to our BCF :)

I can go for BCFF if that works well for you guys. Doing these has helped me loosen up and let go of worring about how things look all the time...more about just enjoying drawing.

You are all so kind, and gracious. We love hosting BCF, and only want it to get more exciting rather than monotonous. I think we will now definitely be starting this BCFirstF! And I will take Laura's advice and go with a bug carcass theme!
I will make up an email list, and be sure to email all of you the week before posting time...so, I guess this means that the next blind countour friday, is going to be the FIRST friday of February! how appropriate!
February 3rd for Blind Contour First Friday!
I am actually pretty darn excited.
We love this little community we have developed, and all the new friends and brilliant blind contourists we have met.
Many Many Thanks.

BCFF sounds good & the e-mail idea is great. Without the routine, I'd surely forget once FF came along.

The e-mail is a great idea. Please add me to the list. Love the necklaces and that gorgeous geen background

BCFF with a theme is a really great idea! Please add me to the email list.

If you need to go to once a month that works for me as well. I'd have to say though that I look forward to BC Friday's the most as it is an illustration that takes very little time (which I seem to have very little of these days)and the results are always a surprise! I'll definitely look forward to BCFirstF's, I may even have more than one to post by that time. Thank you for opening yet another door of creativity for me!

Hi guys;
First of all - thanks a lot for organizing the whole thing and keeping it all alive!
I am all for the BCFF idea and think that having a certain subject beforehand will be great - it will let us all look at oour drawings in a new way! Please add me to the mailing-reminder-subject list :)
cheers,
Nina / Apple-Pine

a challenge with the necklace, an excellent subject, difficult to get a sense of volume.
